Extraordinary League is comprised of young African American professionals who in an effort to change the black social landscape of Atlanta’s youth, have combined and focused their interests, talents, and passion in helping their communities through varying philanthropic opportunities. The League believes it has the ability to bring about change in the African American community by discussing and acting on issues that are pertinent to the people affected.
Whether it’s hosting a fundraiser for its annual scholarship program, walking to raise money to fight Multiple Sclerosis, or leading their signature Intellectual Tuesdays, Extraordinary League is committed to being an organization that impacts all those who cross their paths. With that mission in mind, the League has begun an aggressive effort to specifically target the youth of metro-Atlanta. The implementation of H.E.D.S., Health, Education, Development, and Sports program, is simply the beginning of EL’s effort to combat the issues that negatively affect urban youth.
Extraordinary League has entered the world of social networking and community outreach through the implementation of Intellectual Tuesday, a networking event that allows young, black professionals to discuss the problems and concerns of the community in which they live. Through the topics and discussions presented during Intellectual Tuesdays, Extraordinary League has had an opportunity to connect with other service organizations and businesses that have a similar agenda. Over time, there has been a substantial growth in the popularity of Intellectual Tuesdays, which has led to the support of community outreach activities and social networking events.
EL Book Club
Extraordinary League will host a book club meeting every other month. The books will range from relationship topics, to political issues, and other life concerns. The purpose of the book club meetings is to expose other young, African- American professionals to content outside of their profession. The discussion, though focused on the book, will be designed to connect to our personal and daily lives, as well as our Intellectual Tuesday conversations.
